I have three daughters and all three of them live here. So, the bonus is I have 15 grandchildren that live here too. I grew up sewing. My mother taught me and my sister, and we made most of our clothes. I absolutely loved going to a fabric store. It just made me so happy to see and feel all the beautiful fabrics. I have a heritage of quilters. Both of my grandmother’s quilt. I have a Cousin Diana McClun, who is a pretty famous quilter.
I attempted my first quilt when my oldest daughter was a baby. It was a time when you had to cut out all the squares of fabric piece by piece and I hated it. I didn’t finish that quilt until she turned 16. Then we moved to Southern California, and I worked at Fat Quarters Quilt Shop in Vista California for almost 20 years and that’s when my true love of quilting began and I was influenced by some fabulous quilters down there.
I just love quilting now. I must do it every single day. And I look forward to continuing this for many years to come. I’ve given a lot of quilts away. I have many quilts. And I’m excited to share them with others.
